We were recently contacted by a large insurance company whose main headquarters receives 100-200 packages per day into their central receiving mail-room.  Losing even one of these, especially a signed document, can lead to significant problems.  That’s why the insurance company contacted us looking for the ability to track shipments inside facility.  That’s why we recommended the RACO Interactive Campus Package Delivery solution powered by Z-Space.

Here?s how it will work for them: The company?s mail-room staff can scan existing tracking numbers on incoming packages from UPS, FedEx, USPS, and more. If there?s no tracking number on the package, the solution can generate one and print a label.

A recipient is assigned to the package. Through email and text messaging, the recipient will be notified that a package has been received for them and instruct them when & where to pick it up or when it will be delivered. Using the optional web tracking application they can track the progress of the delivery from their PC or smartphone.

The solution allows the mailroom employee capture signatures at a PC or with the mobile computer, along with the time and date of the transaction, to confirm final receipt for reporting purposes. Mailroom staff can also document damaged goods with the mobile computer?s camera. The system can provide a Proof-of-Delivery report showing the package?s history, pictures and delivery signature. Every package is now managed and tracked from the moment it arrives in the facility to its final destination.
