AML M5900 End of Life

The M5900 Handheld Computer, manufactured by AML since 2007, is scheduled to be removed from production on December 31, 2016.  Orders may be submitted on or before December 31, 2016, but must be eligible for immediate shipment.  No orders for scheduled or delayed shipments will be accepted.  There will remain options for servicing the AML M5900 pas the final purchase date.

The primary replacement option for the M5900 is the M7225b Batch Handheld Computer because it uses the same form factor, charging cradle, and battery.  The LDX10 Handheld Computer may be considered as well.

The M5900 was put into service back in 2007 and has served its customer base well.  Durable, easy to use, and packed with big business functionality, the AML M5900 portable data terminal was an ideal solution for everyday, all day data collection applications – including inventory control, factory floor management, price verification, shipping/receiving, asset tracking and more. However, some critical components in the M5900, namely the CPU, have been discontinued and there is no viable migration path to other components.  Consequently it is impossible to keep the M5900 in production.
